Let's Celebrate Connection this Women's History Month

Updated: Apr 14

Alright ladies, let's get real about connection this Women's History Month!

We've all experienced it—sitting at networking events, cards in hand, unsure if we're making meaningful connections or simply collecting LinkedIn contacts and digital business cards. At the Women's Chamber, we aim to cut through the noise and focus on what truly matters: building genuine relationships that lift us all up.

This month, we're shining a light on the power of inviting other women to the table, rather than sticking to the outdated belief that "there can only be one woman at the table." It's about grabbing extra chairs and making room for all of our sisters.

We’ve gathered insights from some of our amazing board members who embody this mindset every day. These women are not just successful in their individual pursuits—they actively create spaces where others can thrive alongside them.

So, grab a drink (we're not judging), and dive into some honest conversations about collaboration over competition in 2025.

Your Supportive Community Awaits

These are your women, your girl’s girl, your chamber—keeping it 100% real.

Eiesha doesn't just talk about supporting women; she has built her life around it. As the founder of Shattered Voices Unheard, she's developed a lifeline for women recovering from domestic violence, turning personal struggles into a platform that lifts others. When you need someone in your corner, Eiesha's your go-to woman.

What advice would you give to women looking to build meaningful connections in their industry?
Enter every room with an open heart, eager to connect without expecting anything in return. Remember, partnerships and collaborations don’t happen overnight. Conversations are more valuable than money. Many paths we cross aren't just about making a profit—they are about personal growth.

Chanae embodies a rare blend of legal brilliance and soulful wisdom. By day, she’s mastering complex municipal law, shaping our community's very landscape. Whether you need legal advice or life lessons, Chanae brings her thoughtful approach to both, helping women build resilient foundations.

Shoutout One Woman Who Has Marked Your Life!
I must pay tribute to the strongest woman I know: my mother, Cheryl Forshee. Raising ten children requires immense resilience, sacrifice, and love. She has instilled in me the power of perseverance, faith, and community. Those lessons have molded every aspect of my life, teaching me to show up for others and create opportunities for future generations.

Let's be honest—Nandy is smashing it in three male-dominated fields while juggling motherhood and running two businesses. As a co-owner of Boss Babes of South Florida, she has created a space where women entrepreneurs can be authentic and find the support they need. Nandy doesn't just want a seat at the table—she's building new ones, ensuring there's always room for other women.

What does “Collaboration Over Competition” mean to you?
"Collaboration Over Competition" is recognizing that success isn’t a solo activity. When women uplift each other, we create endless opportunities that far exceed what we could achieve alone. I embody this through Boss Babes of South Florida, fostering a community that supports, empowers, and inspires women. Whether sharing resources or creating growth spaces, together, we all win—and that's true success.

For over 16 years, Jordana has dedicated herself to supporting those in our community who need it most. Through Young Dreams Community Outreach, she supports everyone from kids to seniors in tough situations. Her motorcycle initiative, Respect the Ride, transforms personal passion into community action. As our Director of Community Outreach, Jordana goes beyond just talking about connections; she builds bridges linking individuals to resources, opportunities, and each other.

What advice would you give to women looking to build meaningful connections in their industry?
Be authentic and intentional. Support others and engage in groups and events to foster long-lasting relationships. Stay curious and open to learning, ask questions, and help uplift those around you. Follow up and share opportunities. Most importantly, surround yourself with individuals who inspire you and push you to grow.

Practical Tools for Meaningful Connections

Taking inspiration from our remarkable board members, here are practical tools to help you build those valuable connections they’ve emphasized:

  • "What challenge in your business keeps you up at night?"

  • "What skill have you mastered that most in your industry struggle with?"

  • "Who has been an unexpected supporter in your journey?"

  • "What skill are you currently trying to develop?"

Save these questions for your next networking event—they'll help elevate your conversations and take them beyond small talk.
