Welcome to our Summer She-Owned Takeover Series!

We are thrilled to introduce our brand-new summer series, " Summer She-Owned Takeover," where we spotlight remarkable women-owned businesses and entrepreneurs throughout South Florida.

This series, running through June, July, and August, is a celebration of the trailblazers, innovators, and community builders who are making a significant impact in our local economy.

We aim to utilize and maximize our platforms, connections, resources, tools, and access to offer support to women-owned businesses, brands, entrepreneurs, career women, moms, and overall the badass queens we know!

To kick off our series, we’re heading to the heart of Coral Gables, also known as "The City Beautiful." Here, we’re so excited to feature Bloom Boutique, a beautiful bohemian, tropical fashion boutique founded by the one and only queen herself, Mayra.

Let's get right to it…

First Stop: Coral Gables with Bloom Boutique

Meet Mayra: The Heart and Soul of Bloom Boutique

Q: Who is Mayra on a personal and professional level?

Mayra describes herself as a positive person in just about everything, always keeping a smile on her face no matter what. She's driven by dreams and goals in both her personal and business life. As a mom of two amazing children, they are her “Why?” She’s often told she can instill optimism in others, a trait that shines through in her interactions.

Q: Why Bloom Boutique — the concept and the name?

Bloom Boutique symbolizes the end of an era and the beginning of a new one, representing the blooming and rebirth of a new phase in Mayra’s life. The concept is a bright, airy shopping space, reflecting her obsession with colorful things because color makes people happy.

Q: What does community mean to you, and how does Bloom Boutique embody that spirit?

For Mayra, community means a place where people interact, build, and grow relationships. At Bloom Boutique, customers become friends, cultivating a sense of belonging and connection.

Q: What is the most fulfilling aspect of empowering women through your boutique?

Empowering women through Bloom Boutique is about encouraging each other and creating a safe place for many. It’s about building a supportive environment where women can thrive, and look beautiful.

Q: What is one valuable business tip for those women looking to start their venture?

Mayra’s advice is to build relationships first. It's about selling “you” before selling the product. Authentic connections are the foundation of successful business ventures.

Q: What drives you to keep going, even during the toughest times?

Mayra’s drive comes from her faith, family, and belief that there’s no room for “plan B.” Her resilience and determination are fueled by these core elements.

Q: How do you see women-owned businesses transforming the local economy?

Women-owned businesses are multitaskers. They are moms, wives, sisters, and even uber drivers, yet they still thrive in business. They are the drivers of the economy, with a love for shopping and supporting one another.

Q: How has being a Latina influenced your entrepreneurial journey?

Mayra appreciates the diversity brought by her roots. Witnessing her parents' sacrifices and hard work upon coming to the United States instilled values and perseverance in her, which she carries into her entrepreneurial journey.

Q: What exciting plans do you have for Bloom Boutique, and what do you hope to make?

Bloom Boutique is launching jewelry subscriptions in early fall, a nod to their customers' love for jewelry. This new venture aims to add more value and delight to their shopping experience.

Q: How can we support you and Bloom Boutique?

Everyone to spread the word, shop small, and follow them on Instagram.

Stay tuned as we continue to spotlight more incredible women-owned businesses and entrepreneurs throughout South Florida.

Let’s celebrate, support, and empower these amazing women who are shaping our community and driving our local economy forward, because when you shop locally you are supporting a real person’s dreams!

Stay bright queens!
